Can you explain what type of education and background experience someone may need to work in your job?

I have a Communications degree but you could have a variety of backgrounds. The most important experience is to show that you have held versatile jobs in the past in addition to entry level HR experience.

Describe your day-to-day duties.

I work on our Operations team as a bridge between Finance and HR working on the areas of Payroll, Billing, Benefits, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, Onboarding/Offboarding, Hiring, Event Planning, and Administration.

What are the 3 favorite parts about your job.

• Being able to connect with different people on a daily basis, making their jobs easier

• Organizing employee engagement events (happy hours, holiday initiatives, etc.)

• My team! We work together extremely well and it makes work fun

Who are some teams that you collaborate/work with?

Everyone! I work on the Operations team and work closely with IT and Finance. I onboard every new hire and work across every department to ensure that all employees are onboarded properly, have the access they need, and are set up for success.

What are some of the challenges that you face within your role?

One of the challenges that I face are being pulled in different directions and managing capacity. Since I do work with every department they don’t always have insight into what I’m working on with other departments.

What is one thing you wish more people knew about your job?

My title is vague just like my role is - but I like it that way. It gives me the opportunity to work on additional projects and learn new skills, always evolving my career in different ways.
